In 1993, after several slammed doors, a small town bank went out on a limb and took a chance on the aspirations of a local. This desiring businessman had spent most of his life around vehicles. From working in gas stations, to fueling trucks and washing cars, Tony Nessa’s automotive career began at age fourteen. With the support of his friends and family and newly found financing the doors to Tony’s Tire Service were opened.
As the only employee, Tony spent endless hours advising, constructing, mounting and balancing tires. As the years passed, employees were hired, business continued to boom and Tony’s two sons Chris and Tyler were incorporated into the business.
The company continued to grow as a tire center, but the needs of customers called for more growth. Therefore, a service department was added to the corporation. Certified technicians were added one by one and the company began taking on new tasks. Services from everyday maintenance and repairs, engine work, brake shoes, and alignments became everyday activity.
In 1998, again the customer’s needs became pertinent and it was again time to expand. The purchase of the company’s first wrecker was made. With the guidance of a respected friend the company’s employees quickly learned the ropes of towing small cars and trucks. It wasn’t long and the company continued to purchase bigger wreckers to do bigger jobs. With more training and experience the company was being called upon to do a wide variety of towing ranging from road side service to the most extreme accidents.
Now, well over a decade later, Tony’s family owned business has grown into what we now know as Tony’s Truck, Tire, and Auto Center. The once one man operation now employs upwards of 10 full time employees and there is talk of expansion. The full service station has technicians that specialize in every aspect of the community’s needs; farm equipment repair, full wrecker service, road side service, diesel engine maintenance, semi and trailer maintenance, inspection and repair, automotive repair, and, of course tires. The company is known as a strong and charitable business in the area that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Tony’s Tire Service, Inc. – Webster City, Iowa
“This photo of a mid-air feed trailor recovery was submitted by Tony’s Tire Service, Inc., in Webster City, Iowa. As the truck was rounding a curve, the fifth-wheel pin broke from the tractor, sending the trailer rolling and coming to a rest wheels-up. The tractor remaind upright, it’s driver uninjured. Tony’s Tire Service, Inc. responded with a 2009 Kenworth with a Century 9055/SP 850 and a 1997 (since upgraded to a 2009) Kenworth with a Century 1060.
The trailer’s compartment doors at the top of the trailer were torn away during the accident. Some of the load of feed was vacuumed out. Tony’s Tire Service operators lifted the trailer, emptying the remaining contents into neat piles for recovery, uprighted the trailer while in the air, and set it down on it’s wheels
Using a special attachment, the trailer was towed using the 9055′s underlift to Tony’s Tire Service’s storage facility. The design and load characteristics of these feed trailers make them top heavy, and operators at Tony’s Tire Service recover them often, especially in the winter.”
